Follow the recipe, and you will find out how you make strawberry jam from scratch.
Rinse the strawberries under the cold tap water.
Then ladle the strawberries into the pot and spoon the white sugar on top. Close the cover and leave the strawberries for 30-40 minutes covered.
Cook the strawberries on medium heat for about 30-40 minutes without covering and stirring occasionally so that the strawberries do not burn. Don’t forget to remove the foam from the boiling strawberries.
Next add in the citric acid and stir the fruits well until it has dissolved, which typically takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
Boil the water and then cool it for 20-30 minutes. Water shouldn’t be hot.
Mix in the powdered pectin into a bowl filled with the warm water. Stir fast and strong to prevent it from curling up in the warm water. Mix the pectin well until it dissolves. Always pay attention to the instructions.
Then pour the pectin and water into the strawberries and mix well. Bring the strawberry jam to a boil and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 120-140 degrees Fahrenheit and sterilise the jars. Then ladle the strawberry jam into sterile jars. Seal the jars with the strawberry jam and keep them in the refrigerator or in the cold and dark place.
